young caterpillar

As I was working on my final photo project of the year, I came across this little guy.  I almost stepped on him. Thank goodness for his bright colors.  They caught my eye, so I just had to take a picture.  He was very patient with me.

lions, tigers, and...bugs?

This was the weirdest bug I have ever seen.  I went to Red Kane with Maysaa today. It was beautiful, but bugs galore! Yuck!

the curious dog

This is Sophie.  I love just how curious she really is.  It's almost as if she has no fear, but she's actually a big scardy cat.  This picture shows just how curious she really is.

Nostalgia

Yesterday I was cleaning my garage when I came across a box of old movies and things that I had painted when I was in 1st grade.  It brought about memories.  It made me miss being a little kid without worries.  My only worry was what I was going to eat for each meal.  Now, about to graduate, I realize how much I've changed and grown.  How much I miss being a kid.

*gallery night*

On April 21 from 6-8 p.m. at the Marty Seybold Gallery there will be a photo gallery being hosted to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  One of my photos will be in the gallery so you should come check it out.  It is going to be loads of fun and the support would be much appreciated.

caught in a cage

My mom got this cage for her birthday filled with butterflys and birds.  I love the look of an old fashioned bird cage.  I don't like the feeling of being trapped though.

it's hard without shoes-TOMS

The problem is large, but the solution is simple. Wearing shoes and practicing basic hygiene can prevent both infection and disease due to unsafe roads and contaminated soil. By imagining a life barefoot, we can all contribute to the awareness of these conditions. On April 8th, communities, campuses, organizations, and individuals are banding together to walk barefoot for One Day Without Shoes.

Take a walk with us on April 8th, 2010.

mark the shark

Today was one of multiple fitness gram days.  Out of the corner of my eye I catch one of my best friends, Mark, all dressed up.  He is such a goober but I love him.

cut grass

This is the middle sister, Emily.  I love doing photo shoots with her.  She is truely one of my best friends.

yeah, we have way too much fun

I absolutely adore my friends.  I can even consider my sister, on the end, to be one of my best friends.  This was a timer shot taken on the football field at my school.  It makes me smile.

11 o' clock and in need of inspiration

I truly love photography but to incorporate that idea into my self portrait was a little difficult. I didn't want to do the stereotypical photo of a camera in front of my face that I took in the mirror.  Too boring.  So I tried to do something different...I must say that I failed. Sad but true.

"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving.  What you have caught on film is captured forever...it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything."

retouch, refinish, revise

I absolutely hated using photoshop to fix everything.  If I want a purple background, then I'll take the picture on a purple background.  It's as simple as that.  I learned that you, as a photographer, should figure out what you want your picture to look like and make it look like that without the editing.  All this editing is unnecessary.  I am on the other hand very satisfied with the outcome.

Shelby in Paint and a Pretty Dress

I absolutely love the expression on Shelby's face.  She seems scared and sad but looks so very pretty.  I must say that our photoshoot was a success and tons of fun.

Adventuring in the Oddest of Places

I got to go adventuring in my backyard this afternoon.  Who knew so many cool things would be back there?  Lately I've been finding the most interesting things in the oddest places.  I love it.

Sisterly Love

This is Alli and Sophie.  They are both my sisters.  I absolutely love the colors in this picture.  The grass happened to look extra green today.  It was such an amazing day.  Really stinks that I was sick though.  But I still managed to take a picture. Yes!

Responsible and Diverse

I hated creating this photo so much.  It was a pain like no other.  This end photo makes me so happy.  It looks just the way I want it too.  I can honestly say that I am super proud of this photo outcome.

Creation and Then Some

This is the same photo I had posted last week with a twist.  I added the texture of a dandelion on top of it, tweaked with the hue/saturation and blending options and this was my final outcome.  I really like the texture that I chose.  Looking at the picture you would never guess it was a dandelion.  Also, when you think of a jaguar you don't usually think of a simple flower.

Creation

This is a combination of four different pictures of the jaguar statue.  You were suppose to use the two that you had taken earlier, but I'm too picky to do that. Sad but true.  I really like this picture and the way it turned out.  The whole montage feel is really getting on my good side.

Run Away Teddy

I just couldn't help myself.  As I was going outside to find a nice texture, I spotted my dogs teddy bear.  All I noticed was the dirtiness of that poor bear.  I could actually see the bear trying to make a run for it just to get away from my dog.

1876

I couldn't help myself.  Did you know that the National League of Baseball was founded in 1876?  Pretty interesting.  I was in a antique,  good ole' times type of  mood.  I believe I was inspired by the cold weather I had to stand in for an hour to get this photo.  I do enjoy it though.
